Concept
In Serbian language, “Tata Mata” is a well-known saying used to describe excellence. Keeping this fact in mind, back in 2016 when we opened our first restaurant, we meaningfully gave it this name.
A classic Dalmatian and seafood cuisine is the foundation for our creation, while modern cooking techniques provide a way for us to be among the best in the rich Belgrade restaurant offer.
In an effort to share what we know best, using what nature has given us, we work exclusively with fresh, carefully selected ingredients.

“Splav” on the river
In 2022, we opened another restaurant in another location, in New Belgrade, at Savski Nasip. As the name itself suggests, Tata Mata Novi Beograd Konoba&Wine Bar. The restaurant, designed on a magnificent splav located on the Sava River, fulfilled one of our biggest wishes. We brought the "sea" to Belgrade and got the opportunity to complement our programme with the artistic and musical content.

For more than a decade, the name Tata Mata has stood for exceptional food, carefully selected wines and a distinctive approach to hospitality. With our new address in Dorćol, that familiar signature takes on a different, distinctly urban rhythm.
Gastronomy
We sailed into the 21st century with the flavours of tradition. We proved that the traditional Adriatic cuisine can be at the highest level in terms of modernity, while still having the authentic undertones of our grandmothers’ dishes. In addition to fresh sea fish and seafood, in our restaurant you can taste premium dishes characterised by the freshness of ingredients and an interesting way of combining them. In our kitchen, dishes are created with love and skill, and we can often surprise you with something new. The coordinated team in the kitchen works as one and creates dishes that satisfy all the senses while justifying even the highest expectations.

Our vision of exceptional hospitality is constantly evolving with our desire to welcome each of our guests in a pleasant atmosphere.
Vladimir Stanković (owner), a connoisseur and wine lover, makes sure that we pay special attention to details in an effort to ensure that every element that will ultimately create a full impression is perfectly synchronized.
Although the food that will reach the guest's plate speaks a lot for itself, our team is well educated and ready to explain all the details. Also, they are adequate to help in choosing a dish and adjusting the wine according to the sensibility of the guest.
Wine
Our rich wine card includes more than 350 different wines from all over the world. The wines are selected and suggested so as to complement the entire experience of coming to the restaurant. Given that they represent an important segment of our offer, events such as thematic food and wine pairing are events that we pay special attention to.
The wines are treated and stored adequately in an imposing wine display case. Guests of the restaurant have the option of buying wine at shop prices if they want to take wine home or give it as a gift to their business partners or friends.

Tata Mata is a top-tier seafood restaurant, featured in the prestigious Gault&Millau guide and ranked among the 10 best seafood restaurants in Belgrade. It blends the freshness of the sea with modern gastronomy. The sea bass pâté is a light and tasty starter, the tuna steak perfectly seared and rich in flavor, and the grilled calamari juicy and tender, with a pronounced natural taste. The monkfish in a sparkling wine and truffle sauce is creamy, delicate, and sophisticated. Exceptional presentation, impeccable service, and dishes that exceed expectations. A must-visit for all lovers of seafood cuisine.
Excellent food, friendly staff, sparkly-clean bathrooms (feminine hygene products included) and a great view of the suspension bridge, all on a gently swaying (barely noticeable) house on the water.
Sjajno mesto za pravu hranu! One of the best and few places with real Dalmatian style black risotto. Save some "space" for excellent deserts too.
If you think of high class experience, this is the place. Food 10/10, service 10/10, ambiance 10/10, location 10/10, wine list 10/10, overall, as a hospitality professional i have to say, this is one of top 3 restaurants in Belgrade,if not in Serbia. Impressive!
It's been a long time since I've had such incredible seafood, perfectly accompanied by the excellent Bjelica Babaroga white wine. A true hidden gem in Belgrade!
My favorite place. The food is amazing. Combine as much as you can from the menu. Huge surprise with the risotto with the smoked seafood, incredible taste. Brodet with seebas and bream is excellent. Previously, I have tried grilled Brill and this is unique as they know how to make it. Highly recommend.
Incredible lunch at Tata Mata. Sat on the dock just watching the boats sail down the Danube. Service was immaculate and the seafood was some of the best I’ve ever had. Octopus carpaccio, seafood risotto and catch of today is a must!

An excellent fish restaurant with an unpretentious and very pleasant ambience on the bank of the river! Unobtrusive, friendly and professional waiters! Excellent octopus carpaccio, delicious tartare with gambora. ... A perfectly prepared pagar in the oven with vegetables! Excellent olive oil on the table! Nice desserts .... great wine selection!
A beautiful location along and on the Sava River. Delicious dishes enjoyed while being lulled by the gentle waves of the river.
